Diesel engines get 30% to 40% better fuel economy compared to a gas engine with comparable power, 12mpg. But most important diesel engines have fewer moving parts, requiring fewer oil changes, longer fluid life. The engine life is three times longer than comparable gas engines. This far exceeds the typical engine requirements of the RV application.
